The Greater Washington Urban League and The D.C. Public Schools are calling
all fathers and males who are involved in the lives of children to attend the
"Conference For Fathers: Fathers and Children Stepping into the Millennium"
on June 30, 2001.
Do you play a role in the life of a child? Does a child look to you for
inspiration or assistance? If you consider yourself to be instrumental in the
life of a child, participate in this day of fellowship, education and change.
The conference will focus on the question: Why Male Involvement? Workshops
will touch on a variety of subjects including communicating with children and
mothers, developing parenting skills, nurturing children, legal and custodial
rights, and staying involved in your child's education.
The Conference For Fathers will be held Saturday, June 30, 2001 at the
Washington Convention Center (900 9th Street, NW, Washington, DC).
Registration will be held from 9 - 9:30 a.m. and the Conference will be from
9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is FREE and open to the public, BUT,
